Jobs and entry criteria for the Level 2 Passenger Transport Driver apprenticeship
The Level 2 Passenger Transport Driver apprenticeship provides a seamless entry into a career within the transport industry with roles such as a Dispatch operative, Passenger transport operative, Ticketing operative, Transport operational team member and, Transport station team member. This 12 month apprenticeship offers the necessary training and skills needed for a successful career within the transport industry. Furthermore, it is ideal for new recruits, who hold a valid UK Category B driving license and is a great opportunity to begin a long term career in the transport sector.
Base requirements include a UK Category B driving license, Level 1 Maths and English however if you don’t currently have Level 1 Maths and English we offer opportunities to complete during your apprenticeship.
Key responsibilities of a Passenger Transport apprentice
The main role of a passenger transport apprentice is to ensure proper operation of passenger transport. Apprentices will be expected to drive legally and safely and prioritise the safety of both passengers and the wider public. You’ll be expected to:

Passenger Transport End point assessment
Before taking the EPA, the apprentice must be 18 years old. If their studies reside within the bus and coach section the apprentice must hold a valid UK driving license (Category D) to allow the apprentice to drive a vehicle with more than eight passengers. Additionally, they will be expected to have completed Level 1 Maths and English and Level 2 Maths and English ahead of their EPA.
The EPA is broken down into 2 sections: observation which focuses’ on the apprentice’s skills and behaviours, covering knowledge through a demonstration and; a professional review which focuses’ on the apprentice’s knowledge and understanding.
